If you need good music for a video,

First of all, be willing to spend a little money.

www.immediatemusic.com is GREAT.

www.x-raydogmusic.com is also good.

remember, illegal music is not okay! Spend the money for a license if you need it, you won't regret it.

Just to let you know that freeplaymusic.com is still copyright protected, so therefore not allowed to put it in our films.

i understant you want to have legal music used in the videos and you can buy the rights for them from noumorus sites like the ones you've mentioned. But is it still ok to use the music if you purchased the music through a reliably source like walmart.com or what about a CD, can you use that audio or do you have to get a further copyright from another site? thanks.

Hey

Buying music doesn't give you permission to use it in your own creative work. You can buy it to listen to it but buying it doesn't mean that you have rights to use that music.

You see this on youtube all the time. Someone creates a movie and takes a track from their cd collection and posts it as a background for their movie. It is not legal to do.

Since we are showing these 50 hour films on the web and on TV we are providing the artists work to a wider audience with out compensation to them. Not ok. The first thing RETN asks me is if there is copyright music in the films. If there is it doesn't show.

Therefore using unlicensed copyrighted music will get your film removed from judging and not shown on the website. We don't want to have to deal with any copyright issues and have to DQ a otherwise great film for having unlicensed Music.

I understand it is hard enough to make a quality film without having to worry about music too. But there are many ways around this. We have a collection of backtraxx here at essex. This is all copyright free music. There are also Creative commons music. Youlicense is great too. Moby Gratis is super cool.

You can also make your own music with something like fruity loops, garageband or other looping program.

It takes some work and thought but it is the right way to do it.
